Wang Jinfu, president of our university, participated in the 2025 Annual Conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) University held in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on May 12. At the event’s Presidents’ Forum, he was invited to preside over a subforum on the integration of university and industry.

The goal of the 2025 Annual Conference of the SCO University is to explore new models of higher education cooperation and to serve the building of a community with a shared future within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. At the opening ceremony of the annual conference, speeches were delivered by Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education of China; Shri Janesh Kain, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization; H. E. Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan; Kendirbayeva Dogdukul Sharsheevna, Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyz Republic; Konstantin Ilyich Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia; Rahim Hamro Saidzoda, Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan; and Vladimir Mikhailovich Filippov, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of the SCO University.

Prior to the annual conference opening ceremony, attendees visited the SCO University (China) Digital Education Achievements Exhibition at the Xinjiang International Convention & Exhibition Center. A total of 23 Chinese member universities of the SCO University, including Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xinjiang University, North China Electric Power University, and Xi’an Shiyou University, participated in the exhibition, showcasing the latest developments in digital education at Chinese higher institutions to delegates from SCO member states.
