On the afternoon of 31st May, an on-line meeting was held in the 2nd Conference Room of Yanta Campus between Xi’an Shiyou University and Polotsk State University of Belarus. Vice-President Zhang Rongjun attended the meeting. Professor Qu Chengtun from College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Professor Wang Shouxi from College of Petroleum Engineering, Yu Yanying, Dean of College of Foreign Language, Dong Hao, Dean of College of International Education, Yansuli, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Wang Wenhua, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office attended the meeting. Oksana Golubeva, first Vice-Rector of Polotsk State University, Yury Golubev, Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs, Iryna Buraya, Vice-Rector of Science, Olga Zhuravskaya, Head of the International Office, Olga Romanova, Head of the Department of Studies, Igor Magalinsky, Head of the Study Centre for International Students attended the meeting.
Vice-President Zhang Rongjun addressed the meeting and welcome all the representatives on behalf of the university. He said that bilateral relationships have developed and the two sides have become the most important cooperation partners in various fields since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belarus 30 years ago. He hopes that the two sides could strengthen exchange and cooperation and further promote the development of education, humanities and other aspects.
Oksana Golubeva, first Vice-Rector of Polotsk State Univeristy introduced their university from the geographic location, specialty， curriculum and international exchange and cooperation. She said that Polotsk State University is a modern comprehensive university with traditional liberal arts such as humanities, foreign language and law as well as engineering such as petroleum pipelines, petrochemical, mechanical design, civil engineering and computer science etc. She hopes to carry out the deep and full cooperation in scientific research, joint training of students and communication between teachers and students in the near future. Director Yan Suli gave a brief introduction of our university.
The two sides had a heated discussion on the details of the cooperation, reached consensus on the direction and focus of cooperation for the next step and decide to sign an inter-university cooperation agreement on June 8, 2022.
Polotsk State University is one of the most important universities in Belarus with graduates in the fields of petrochemical, oil and gas storage and transportation, industrial and civil engineering, information technology, mechanical engineering, foreign languages and other fields.
