On July 10th, Party Secretary of Xi’an Shiyou University Chang Jiang and the University President Wang Jinfu, paid an official visit to Mr. He Zhongwen, Director, General Manager, and Deputy secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of China Oil & Gas Piping Network Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “PipeChina”). The meeting was attended by senior executives from both sides. PipeChina’s attendees included Wang Zhensheng, Deputy General Manager and Member of the Leading Party Members’ Group of PipeChina, Zhao Shangxin, General Manager of the Science and Technology Department, Party Committee Secretary of the Research Institute and Company Representative, Xiao Degang, Representative and Secretary of the Party Committee of PipeChina Northwest Company, Zhang Ke, Deputy Director of the Cooperation Office, and Tao Weifang, Deputy General Manager of the Party Organization and Publicity Department. The University delegates included Zhang Mu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Zhang Rongjun, Vice President, and leaders of the Party Committee Office (President’s Office), the Scientific Research Office (Research Achievements Transfer and Transformation Center) and the Graduate School (Discipline Construction Office).

Secretary Chang Jiang expressed his profound gratitude to PipeChina for its robust support of the university. He highlighted the institution’s historical trajectory and achievements in talent cultivation, disciplinary development, scientific research, and international collaboration. In particular, he detailed the establishment of the College of Pipeline Engineering in response to the evolving needs of smart pipeline networks, initiatives in high-caliber talent training programs and cutting-edge scientific research support. Chang Jiang emphasized the deep resonance between PipeChina and the university: shared origins, aligned visions, and enduring partnership. As pillars for the oil and gas industry, the two sides have solid foundations in joint talent development, collaborative R&D projects, and continuing education programs. He hoped that the university and PipeChina will join hands to build an innovation consortium for collaborative research initiatives; establish an outstanding engineers academy to enhance the quality of talent cultivation in industry-specific fields and supply excellent graduates to the sector; set up a platform for connecting research achievements with their transformation, driving the application of results and industrial upgrading through high-level technological support; and strengthen the joint cultivation and training of international talents to better serve the enterprises’ overseas expansion and international development.

President Wang Jinfu expressed his gratitude to PipeChina for its trust and support to the university in talent recruitment, education and training, and scientific research cooperation. He looked forward to seeing more outstanding graduates from Xi’an Shiyou University being recruited to participate in the construction of smart pipeline networks and the development of the energy industry.
He Zhongwen extended a warm welcome to Chang Jiang, Wang Jinfu and the delegation, expressed great gratitude to the university for its contributions to PipeChina in talent supply and research support, and spoke highly of the university’s achievements in recent years. Then, he introduced the basic information of PipeChina in terms of its establishment background, development history and business fields. He Zhongwen pointed out that PipeChina and the University have maintained close cooperation in talent cultivation, staff training, research collaboration, technical exchanges and other fields over the years. Looking ahead, he emphasized deepening practical cooperation to jointly advance sustainable corporate growth and elevate the University’s academic excellence. He pledged full backing for the university’s initiatives, supporting key events scheduled this year, and urging relevant departments to explore new synergies across expanded areas of partnership to achieve mutual benefits through concrete outcomes.
The attendees from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on talent cultivation, employee training, and key research projects, reaching significant consensus on future collaboration.
