On the morning of July 12, Xi’an Shiyou University held the 2025 Alumni Decade Reunion and High-Quality Development Forum at the Yanta Campus Gymnasium. University leaders Chang Jiang, Wang Jinfu, Zhang Mu, Zhang Rongjun, Zhao Jian, and Chong Yuhong attended the event, along with alumni representatives and their families, leaders of regional alumni associations, members of the Alumni Entrepreneurs Union, former university leaders, all department- and division-level cadres, faculty representatives, retired staff, and current students—more than 2,000 participants in total. The event was co-hosted by alumni Wang Zhe and Zhu Xiaopei, and faculty-student representatives Qiao Xiao and Du Jiawei.
During the forum, Party Secretary Chang Jiang presented donation certificates to 12 alumni and enterprises in recognition of their long-term support and contributions to the university’s development.
President Wang Jinfu delivered a keynote address titled “Tracing Our Roots and Charting a New Course for Development,” reviewing the university’s historical legacy, developmental milestones, and future strategies. He emphasized the university’s six-pronged development plan focused on improving the quality of talent cultivation, achieving breakthroughs in discipline construction, promoting growth in research and innovation, enhancing the talent team, leading in openness and cooperation, and optimizing internal reforms. He highlighted the dynamic momentum of the university's current development and called on alumni to share their industry expertise and work together with the university to build a “First-Class XSYU” , Cultural XSYU, and Happy XSYU.”
President Wang also signed university-enterprise cooperation agreements with 14 alumni-led enterprises, outlining deep collaborations in talent development, university-industry integration, and technology transfer, aiming to foster synergy across the talent, education, industry, and innovation chains.
Alumni representatives Hou Jingchuan, Lei Qun, Hu Changle, Lu Feng, and Li Xiang shared heartfelt reflections on their time at the university, their post-graduation achievements in various industries, and their deep gratitude for their alma mater. They pledged continued support for the university’s growth and development.
Alumna He Jing delivered an inspiring talk titled “Climbing,” sharing her personal story of perseverance and determination, which embodies the fearless and ambitious spirit of Xi’an Shiyou University. Her message motivated students and alumni to continue striving for excellence in their respective fields.
The forum also unveiled the “Five Empowerment Plans for Alumni Development,” which detail the university’s concrete measures to support alumni across five areas: lifelong learning, university-enterprise cooperation, resource sharing, emotional connection, and extended services—underscoring the university’s ongoing commitment to the lifelong growth of its alumni.
Additionally, 14 presidents of alumni associations jointly launched the “Global Alumni Initiative to Support University Development,” calling on Xi’an Shiyou alumni worldwide to carry forward the Iron Man and Petroleum Spirit, contribute their insights to discipline development and talent cultivation, and advance innovation through industry-university collaboration. The initiative aims to forge a lifelong community of shared destiny between the university and its alumni.
This event was not only a meaningful reunion to revisit shared memories but also a new starting point for collaborative development. Xi’an Shiyou University and its alumni will use this forum as a launching pad to shoulder the responsibility of advancing high-quality energy development, forge ahead in serving the nation through energy innovation, and contribute to national rejuvenation and prosperity.
