Recently, our university has witnessed new fruitful achievements in aesthetic education. Following its debut on the stage of the National Centre for the Performing Arts in December 2025, where it took part in the 18th “Spring Flowers and Autumn Fruits” Art Exhibition and Performance, the university choir has been invited to perform on China Media Group (CMG)’s “2026 Welcome Spring Gala” for its outstanding performance. This vividly demonstrates the university’s effectiveness in educating students through aesthetics and culture, marking a leapfrog enhancement in the university’s aesthetic education standards and social influence.
On the stage, the choir members made a spectacular impression with the song “Missing You So Much”. The program upholds the creative style of deeply integrating fine traditional Chinese culture with the spirit of the times. With sincere and delicate emotional expression, harmonious and unified vocal harmony, and impressive stage performance, the students fully showcased the solid artistic literacy and uplifting spirit ofXSYUstudents in the new era. Moreover, the performance conveyed the grand momentum of northwest Chinese culture and the sincere aspiration ofXSYUstudents to serve the countrywiththeir contributions inthe energy industry.
The glorious journey from campus art contests to the National Centre for the Performing Arts, and then to the spotlight on CCTV screens is by no means an overnight success. Instead, it is an inevitable result ofXSYU’s deep commitment to aesthetic education and efforts to promote its high-quality development in recent years.For a long time, the university has attached great importance to the pivotal role of aesthetic education in talent cultivation, and has built a multi-level and widely-participated aesthetic education system. Brand art activities such as the Freshmen Welcome Gala, Lawn Music Festival andNew YearConcert are held regularly, while colorful cultural and sports events including the “Wisdom Cup” Debate Competition, “Voice of Spring” Speech Contest and “Rhyme of Autumn” Poetry Recital with Music are brilliantly staged. The university has organically integrated the characteristics of the petroleum industry with aesthetic education, building a broad platform for students to perceive, express and create beauty.
This successive appearance on national-level stages is not only a full recognition of our university’s aesthetic education work, but also a great encouragement to all teachers and students. In the future, the university will continue to foster students’ foundational qualities with aesthetics,and nurture their character with culture, further improve the aesthetic education mechanism, enrich practical carriers of aesthetic education, and guide young students to strengthen cultural confidence and cultivate noble sentiments through aesthetic edification. We will strive to cultivate students into well-rounded builders and successors of the new era, who excel in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor education, and are dedicated to the cause of energy in the new era.
