On the afternoon of October 12, coinciding with the 74th anniversary of the university’s founding, the unveiling ceremony ofXSYUScience and Technology Park and the signing and licensing ceremony for resident units were held at the Yanta Campus of our university. Wang Jinfu, President of the university, and Su Wenfu, Zhang Rongjun, Vice Presidents of the university, attended the ceremony. Representatives from relevant enterprises in the industry, heads of relevant functional departments and colleges of the university, as well as teacher and student representatives, also participated in the event. The ceremony was hosted by Zhang Mu, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee.

In his speech, Wang Jinfu pointed out that the establishment of the University Science and Technology Park is a long-term plan of the university based on the new development stage. It not only inherits the university’s disciplinary foundation and scientific research advantages in the energy field over the 74 years since its founding, but also serves as an important measure to “break down the walls” and integrate into the national innovation system. He elaborated on the construction basis of the University Science and Technology Park, which follows the principle of “university-led, government-supported, enterprise-participated and market-oriented operation”, and clearly defined the “four core orientations” of the science and technology park:
1.To build an accelerator for the transformation of scientific research achievements. Relying on national and provincial-level scientific research platforms and authorized invention patents in the past five years, a full-chain service system covering “laboratory - pilot test - industry” will be constructed.
2.To build a dream workshop for innovative and entrepreneurial talents. A three-level system of “maker space - incubator - accelerator” will be established, and innovative and entrepreneurial credits will be set up to cultivate interdisciplinary talents.
3.To build a community for the coordinated development of universities and enterprises. A coordinated ecosystem of “university + enterprise + government” will be built, experimental resources will be opened up, and efforts will be made to promote teachers’secondment to enterprises and experts’ participation in classroom teaching.
4.To build a new window for serving social development. Focusing on fields such as intelligent manufacturing, green development and rural revitalization, the university’s innovation resources will be used to serve social well-being.
At the same time, he emphasized that in the future, the University Science and Technology Park will adhere to the orientation of innovation, open cooperation, service-oriented and standardized operation, and strive to become a highland for scientific and technological innovation, a cradle for talent growth and a model for university-enterprise cooperation.

Zhang Mu Hosting the Ceremony
In the enterprise representatives’ speech session, 8 enterprises successively introduced their corporate profiles and development visions. Each enterprise shared information from the aspects of industry positioning, core technological advantages and cooperation directions with the university. All of them expressed their expectation to deepen industry-university-research collaboration and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results after settling in the science and technology park, demonstrating a high recognition of the platform value of the science and technology park.

Subsequently, teacher and student representatives delivered speeches. Teacher representative Yang Yi from the School of Electronic Engineering, combining his teaching and scientific research practice, shared the valuable experience of his team in accurately meeting the actual needs of enterprises in new energy storage and intelligent monitoring by relying on the university’s technical accumulation in the interdisciplinary field of electrical engineering and artificial intelligence, and promoting the transformation of projects from theory to practice. Student representative Fan Jing, a third-year master’s student from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, shared his personal experience of participating in the university-enterprise joint training during his postgraduate studies and expressed his vision of improving practical capabilities and supporting scientific research innovation with the help of the science and technology park platform. The voices of teachers and students expressed their expectation that the science and technology park will help teachers and students “apply their research results and achieve success in practice”, and pointed out the service direction of the science and technology park construction as “benefiting teaching, scientific research and talent cultivation”. It makes us firmly believe that with the joint efforts of universities, enterprises and other parties, the science and technology park will surely become a core position for the transformation of the university’s scientific research achievements, a practical cradle for talent cultivation and an important engine for industry innovation.

In the signing session of the intention agreement for settlement, witnessed by President Wang Jinfu, Vice President Su Wenfu signed agreements with representatives of 8 resident enterprises on behalf of the university. This marks the official launch of the cooperation model featuring resource sharing, complementary advantages and collaborative innovation between the university and enterprises.

In the final session of the ceremony, the unveiling ceremony of the University Science and Technology Park was held in the Oriental Petroleum Building. Wang Jinfu, Su Wenfu and Zhang Rongjun jointly unveiled the plaque of “Xi’an Shiyou University Science and Technology Park”, and together with the heads of various enterprises, unveiled the plaques for each resident unit.

As an important platform for the university to serve regional economic development and promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, Xi’an Shiyou University Science and Technology Park will focus on the oil and petrochemical energy field, build a full-chain service system, help scientific research achievements move from the “laboratory” to the “production line”, and inject new impetus into the high-quality development of the region. In the future, the university will continue to deepen cooperation with all parties to jointly build a benchmark for the innovation ecosystem of win-win cooperation between the university and the local community.
