The national flag flutters as we inherit therevolutionary heritage; we forge ahead with determination to undertake the mission of strengtheningthecountry. On the afternoon of September 11th, theAdministration ofTian'anmen Area of Beijing Municipal People's Government presented a national flag from Tian'anmen Square toXi’an Shiyou University. Thepresentingceremony was held at the Tian'anmen National Flag Education Museum. Yao Hui,the member of the Party Leadership Groupand Deputy Director (at the director-general level) of theAdministration ofTian'anmen Area, presented theflag. Zhang Mu,the deputysecretary of theCPC Xi’an ShiyouUniversity Committee, received the flag.Chong Yuhong,the vicepresident ofXSYU,andthe leading officials fromtheOffice ofAlumniAffairsand Cooperation and theCommunistYouth League Committeealsoattended.
The national flag is the symbol ofourcountry. It embodies the Chinese nation’s struggle and firm beliefs. The flag donated to our university bears serial number 2021-0114. It measures 5 meters long, 3.3 meters high, and weighs 1,800 grams. This flag was hoisted on Tian’anmen Square on October 12, 2021. That date marked the 70th anniversary ofXSYU’s founding. For our university, the flag has extraordinary historical and commemorative significance. It carries the hopes placed on the university and will be a permanent mark of glory forour university.
Yao Hui and Zhang Mu signedthe Agreement on the Donation of the National Flagon behalf of both parties. On behalf of the university, Zhang Mu expressed gratitude to the Administration of Tian'anmen Area and provided an overview of our university, as well as its plan for the flag’s exhibition and usage. On behalf of the Administration of Tian'anmen Area, Yao Hui put forward requirements regarding the preservation and usage of the national flag.
XSYUwill strictly comply withthe National Flag Law of the People's Republic of Chinaand relevant requirements.The flag will be permanently preserved and fully displayed in the School History Museum, so as to continue giving full play to its patriotic education function.Our university will launchdiverse and engaging patriotic education activities,aimingto inspire all faculty and students to foster a strong sense of patriotism, embrace the mission of serving the nation through the energysector, take concrete action, accelerate our efforts, and contribute the wisdom and strength of Xi'an Shiyou Universityto serving the national energy strategy.
