On the morning of October 12, the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation framework agreement on the joint construction of XSYUwas held at XSYU, between the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).Dai Binbin, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province, Duan Liangwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CNPC, Zhong Ren, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Sinopec, and Huo Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CNOOC, attended the ceremony. They signed the co-construction agreement and delivered remarks at the event.
The meeting noted that Shaanxi is thoroughly studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important statements on education and energy security, earnestly acting on the spirit of his important speeches and instructions delivered during his inspections of Shaanxi on multiple occasions. The province is accelerating efforts to build itself into a strong province in education and striving to foster a trillion-yuan modern energy industrial cluster.This signing represents a strategic decision for the government, enterprises and university to complement each other’s strengths and pursue win-win results. It will jointly elevate the university’s school-running capacity and inject fresh impetus into the transformation and upgrading of Shaanxi’s energy industry and the high-quality development of national energy undertakings.
The meeting emphasized that we must closely align with national strategic needs, take this collaborative co-construction as an opportunity, continuously strengthen the disciplinary strengths with energy features, and strive to build a highland for talent cultivation in the energy sector. Rooted in the petroleum and petrochemical fields, the parties shall jointly conduct research on key and core technologies and promote the application and commercialization of more scientific and technological innovations. It is necessary to coordinate and integrate resources from all sides, ensure the co-construction and cooperation mechanism delivers tangible and substantial outcomes, and endeavor to create a model for central-local cooperation, integration of industry and education, and integration of science and education.
At the meeting, XSYUalso signed a cooperation agreement with Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd.
