On April 16, the inauguration ceremony of the Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan was held atthe Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee,made the remarks while attending the unveiling ceremony of the Luban Workshop. Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredovalso attended theopening ceremony.
Ding stated that the Chinese government highly values international cooperation in vocational education. President Xi Jinping has on many occasions pushed for the establishment of Luban Workshops through cooperation between China and friendly countries.As a well-known brand in China’s vocational education, Lu Ban Workshop has taken root in over 30 countries around the world and has become an important bond for the exchange of skills and cultural exchanges between China andothercountries. Ding pointed out that the construction of the Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan is an important consensus reached by theleaders of China and Turkmenistan, and also an important outcome of the first China-Central Asia Summit. This project has been transformed from a blueprint into reality, injecting new impetus into strengthening friendly cooperation between the two sides.
Dingput forward three hopes for the establishment of the workshop: First, to create an important platform for the growth and development of young people from both countries, strengthen cooperation in education, science and technology, and talent training, highlight the integration of vocational and general education and the integration of industry and education, and actively guide the development of students and expand their space. Second, to build an important support for the improvement and upgrading of energy cooperation, accurately match the development needs of industries, and focus on the targeted training of high-quality technical and skilled talents in key areas such as oil and gas exploration and development, promoting the in-depth connection and coordinated implementation of energy strategies of the two countries. Third, to build an important bridge for the continuousdevelopmentof China-Turkmenistanfriendship, promote mutual learning and mutuallearningamong different civilizations, and enable more and more young people to become messengers of the China-Turkmenistanfriendship cause, continuously consolidating the foundation ofthe China-Turkmenistancommunity with a shared future.
Ding and Mametovattendedthe ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Lu Ban Workshop, visited the training classrooms and observed the simulated teaching sessions. The President of Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, Atamanov, the Chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation, Dai Houliang, the Party Secretary of Xi’anShiyouUniversity, Chang Jiang, and the Party Secretary of Hebei Petroleum Vocational University, Gao Zhongwei, accompanied the visit. Chang Jiang and Gao Zhongwei reported on the equipment configuration of the experimental training rooms and the training of teachers.
The delegations from Xi'an Shiyou University and Hebei Petroleum Vocational University jointly participated in the preparation for theopeningceremony of the Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan, and attended the educational exhibition for the“Seminar Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of China-Turkmenistan Gas Strategic Cooperation”. They jointly formed a professional team to complete the fourth group of the training for the soil engineers at the Luban Workshop.
In the future, the Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan will focus on achieving its long-term development goals and will continue to make efforts in the following areas: First, to establish a long-term operation and maintenance mechanism, deepen the collaborative education model, and create a high-quality platform that helps young people grow and succeed; second, to precisely align with development needs, deepen industry-education integration, and strengthen scientific and technological innovation and collaborative technological research and development; third, topromote thecultural exchanges, promote mutual learning among young people, and and lay a solid foundation for friendly cooperation between China and Turkmenistan.
