Xi’an Shiyou University has signed a joint training agreement for energy talents with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan


On the afternoon of June 12, Principal Wang Jinfu met with Otabek Makhamov, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, in Chengdu during the SecondBelt and RoadScience and Technology Exchange Conference. The two parties engaged in an on-site discussion regarding the joint training project for energy professionals between China and Uzbekistan, ultimately signing an agreement for the collaborative training of energy talents.


At the symposium, Wang Jinfu expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the university to Otabek Makhamov for the support provided to the school in the development of talent training projects and other educational collaborations. Wang Jinfu noted that the China-Uzbekistan energy talent training project, jointly undertaken by our university and the Ministries of Education and Energy of Uzbekistan, has garnered significant attention from the leaders of the Uzbek government. Since the beginning of this year, the university has engaged in multiple rounds of discussions and negotiations with the Uzbek Ministry of Education and relevant regional authorities. During the China-Uzbekistan Education Cooperation Exchange Forum held in Samarkand earlier this month, a cooperation agreement for joint development was signed, marking one of the key achievements of the second China-Uzbekistan Local Cooperation Forum.

Otabek Makhamov expressed his sincere gratitude for the invitation extended by the university to conduct this collaborative seminar in Chengdu. He stated that the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and relevant departments have recently maintained close communication with the university, engaging in multi-level discussions on various tasks within the framework of Sino-Ukrainian energy talent training, and both parties have achieved phased objectives for their collaborative efforts.The China-Uzbekistan Energy Talent Training Program represents a significant achievement in the educational cooperation between the governments of China and Uzbekistan. It is anticipated that both parties will collaborate closely to expedite subsequent efforts and jointly advance the training of skilled professionals.

Following the symposium, both parties conducted a signing ceremony for the joint training agreement concerning energy talents between China and Uzbekistan. Wang Jinfeng and Otabek Makhamov signed the joint training agreement for energy talents between the university and the Ministry of Education of Uzbekistan, as well as the joint training agreement between the university and the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Education of Uzbekistan. The Uzbek Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Energy will collaboratively support the university in implementing talent training initiatives within the energy sector.

The relevant officials from the International Department of the Ministry of Education of Uzbekistan, the Embassy in China, and the International Cooperation and Exchange Office (International Education College) took part in the aforementioned seminar.
