TIANJIN, CHINA – Xi'an Shiyou University (XSYU) was elected as a Council Member of the Luban Workshop Alliance during its 3rd General Assembly and 1st Council Transition Meeting on June 27, 2025. Notably, Dong Hao, Dean of the School of International Education and Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, was appointed Vice Chairman of the Alliance's second council.

The high-profile event, co-hosted by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and Luban Workshop Alliance, gathered leaders including:

XSYU is leading a consortium with:
Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University (Turkmenistan)
Hebei Petroleum University of Technology
China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC)
CEAIE
to establish a Turkmenistan Luban Workshop. This initiative will deliver:
Multi-level programs (Master's/Bachelor's/vocational training)
Degree and non-degree education in energy fields
Current progress: MOU signed, laboratory equipment tendering completed.
Strategic Significance for XSYU:
This development strengthens XSYU’s leadership in energy-focused international vocational education and accelerates the "Going Global" of China’s petroleum education standards under the Belt and Road Initiative.
About Luban Workshop Alliance：
Established in November 2020 in Tianjin, the non-profit alliance – administered by CEAIE with its secretariat at Tianjin Vocational Institute – coordinates national efforts to promote Luban Workshops globally.
