The School of Continuing Education of Xi’an Shiyou University actively carries forward the university’s excellent educational traditions, makes full use of the university’s strong and distinctive educational resources, adapts to social needs, and has built a discipline system with petroleum and petrochemicals as the core and general disciplines as a supplement. Admission Method
Applicants must participate in the National Adult College Entrance Examination organized by the Ministry of Education.
Application Requirements
1. Abide by the Constitution and laws of the People’s Republic of China.
2. Be an employee or other member of society outside of any full-time primary, secondary, or higher education institution recognized by the state.
3. Be in good health, capable of self-care, and free from conditions affecting the chosen program of study.
4. Applicants for the high school to undergraduate (High School to Bachelor) level must have graduated from a senior secondary school or have an equivalent academic qualification.
5. Applicants for the junior college to undergraduate (Top-up Bachelor) level must hold a diploma, bachelor’s completion certificate, or higher certificate from an institution in the national education system approved by the Ministry of Education, including those from self-study examination institutions.
Application Time
Registration for the Adult College Entrance Examination is usually in late August to early September each year. Please refer to the admissions notices released by provincial education examination authorities for specific details.
Application Method
The official website of each provincial education examination authority is the only registration channel for the Adult College Entrance Examination (links attached separately). Application methods follow the notices issued by provincial authorities, typically involving “online registration, information review and confirmation, and online payment.” All applicants—both for the unified examination and for exemption from examination—must complete registration within the specified time.
Entrance Examination
1. Examination Time: Usually in late October; exact dates are subject to the Ministry of Education’s official announcement.
2. Examination Location: Assigned by the admissions office of the applicant’s city, county, or district where registration is completed.
3. Examination Subjects:

Admission
1. Admission is conducted under the leadership and organization of provincial (or municipal) education authorities. Among applicants meeting the admission requirements and whose scores meet the cutoff score, the university admits students according to the principle of “selecting the best from high to low scores.” Successful applicants will receive an official admission notice from the university. New students will begin studies in spring 2026.
2. The university recognizes and implements the Ministry of Education and provincial policies on examination exemptions, extra points, or lower admission thresholds.
3. If there are changes to admission policies, they will be implemented in accordance with the latest regulations issued by national and provincial education authorities.
Duration of Study
Flexible study duration:
Junior college to undergraduate (Top-up Bachelor): 2.5–5 years
High school to undergraduate: 5–8 years
Tuition Standards
1. Undergraduate (Science and Engineering): RMB 2,800 per student per year
Undergraduate (Economics, Management, Literature, and Law): RMB 2,600 per student per year
Undergraduate (Arts): RMB 3,200 per student per year
2. If tuition standards are adjusted by higher authorities or the university, the new standards will apply.
Payment Method
Tuition is paid annually by students within the specified time through the Xi’an Shiyou University financial platform, in full for the current academic year.

Learning Method
The university adopts a blended learning model combining online learning with face-to-face instruction, and formative assessment with final evaluation. Students log in to their personal accounts on the university’s learning platform for course study and online assignments, participate in offline classes as required, and pass course assessments.
Graduation and Degree
Students who complete all courses and the graduation project in the teaching plan within the prescribed time and pass all assessments will be awarded a nationally recognized Adult Higher Education graduation certificate, electronically registered on the China Higher Education Student Information Network (CHSI). Undergraduate graduates who meet the degree award requirements may apply for a bachelor’s degree.
