International Exchange and Cooperation


International exchange and cooperation are important functions of universities. As the worlds second-largest economy, Chinas participation and influence in international affairs are increasing significantly, creating an urgent need for a large number of internationally minded talents with global competence. Cultivating students with an international perspective and competitiveness, in line with Chinas development needs, has become an important goal of our university.


The university has established long-term cooperative relations with 120 universities and institutions in countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Spain, Russia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, South Africa, Romania, Greece, South Korea, India, and the Philippines.

The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan signed an agreement with our university to jointly establish the Uzbekistan Campus of Xian Shiyou University

Our university signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation with Kashkadarya Region, Uzbekistan

Our university held a cooperation meeting with Heriot-Watt University in the UK for the 3+1 Bachelor-Master Joint Training Program

Our university held a signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan


Over the past decade, the university has hosted around 500 visits from overseas experts and scholars for academic exchanges, lectures, or participation in academic activities; hired about 10 foreign teachers each year to teach language and specialized courses; and sent around 100 faculty members annually for inter-university visits, academic exchanges, degree programs, and short-term training abroad.

The university actively promotes the cultivation of students international perspectives. It has implemented the 1+2+1 China-U.S. Talent Training Program with 21 American universities, 2+2 Undergraduate Dual Degree Programs with universities in the United States and South Korea, joint training of Chinese and foreign undergraduate students with dual degrees; 4+1 and 4+2 masters programs with universities in the United Kingdom and Germany; and various long- and short-term exchange programs with high-level universities in Russia, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Through non-degree programs, it promotes student exchanges and offers short-term cultural exchange programs to the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe (Germany, France), Japan, and South Korea during winter and summer breaks. Nearly 300 students go abroad each year for professional studies, social practice, cultural exchanges, and competitions.


The university also leverages high-quality online training programs to strengthen the cultivation system for internationalized local talents and enhance students intercultural communication skills. Each year, students participate in the Ministry of Educations Global Competence Training Program for New Youth, remote internships with international organizations, international talent training programs in carbon neutrality, and other initiatives. Collaborations with high-level universities such as the University of California, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of London, the University of Oxford, and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore provide students with opportunities to take courses from top universities worldwide without leaving the country.
