About Xi'an Shiyou University

• Founded in 1951, it is a multi-disciplinary ordinary institution of higher education with distinctive features in petroleum and petrochemical engineering. It currently has three campuses: Yanta, Mingde, and Huyi, covering a total area of 2,078 mu. The university is located in Xi'an, an ancient city with a long history and culture, which is the starting point of the Silk Road.

• A university co-constructed by China's three major petroleum companies (CNPC, SINOPEC, CNOOC) and the People's Government of Shaanxi Province.

• A university under the "14th Five-Year Plan for Education Power Promotion Project" of the state, a construction institution of the "Demonstration Base for International Students in China" of the Ministry of Education, an independent enrollment institution for international students under the Chinese Government Scholarship, a "Double First-Class" cultivation university in Shaanxi Province, and a high-level university construction institution.

• The university has distinctive disciplinary and professional features, covering nine categories including science, engineering, economics, management, literature, law, education, and art, with a complete talent training system for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. It has 3 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees, 18 first-level disciplines authorized for master's degrees, 15 master's professional degree authorization categories, and 55 undergraduate majors.

• Its engineering, chemistry, earth sciences, and materials science have respectively entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings, and it has been awarded the "National Engineering Master's Postgraduate Education Characteristic Engineering Field". It has 1 first-class discipline in Shaanxi Province, 7 provincial-level advantageous disciplines, and 1 provincial-level characteristic construction project in philosophy and social sciences.

• The scale of the university's faculty has developed steadily, its structure has been continuously optimized, and its quality has been constantly improved. Currently, it has more than 2,000 faculty members, including over 1,380 full-time teachers, more than 750 with senior professional titles (among whom 47 are professors of Grade II and Grade III), over 770 doctoral supervisors and master's supervisors, and more than 900 teachers with doctoral degrees.

• Since 1966, the university has been enrolling international students, and has successively admitted more than 10,000 international students from 95 countries and regions to study here.

Xi'an "Five Central Asian Countries" Scholarship (Foundation  Course + Undergraduate/Master/Doctoral)

It covers: 1. Tuition; 2.  On-campus assigned accommodation; 3. Living allowance; 4. Comprehensive medical insurance fees for international students in China; 5. International travel expenses to China.

Xi'an  "The Belt and Road" Scholarship

• For language students and preparatory course students: 1,000 RMB per month

• For undergraduate students: 1,500 RMB per month

• For master's students: 2,000 RMB per month

• For doctoral students: 2,500 RMB per month

• The scholarship is issued for 10 months in total.

Undergraduate Program Application Requirements

1. Non-Chinese citizen in good physical and mental health.

2. High school graduation certificate or equivalent academic qualification, and be aged between 18 and 24.

3. Take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) and achieve a passing score. (Check the major list for test subjects.)

◦ Specific Test Time (Beijing Time):

▪ Humanities and Arts (Chinese)/Science (Chinese): 13:00-14:30

▪ Chemistry: 19:30-20:30

4.The CSCA score must be submitted along with the undergraduate degree application,with the deadline June 30^th.

5.For programs taught in Chinese: Applicants must reach Level 4 of the HSK with a score of 180 or above.

◦ Note: Applicants for the "Chinese Language and Literature" major who hold a valid HSK Level 4 certificate with a score of 180 or above are exempted from the CSCA - Humanities and Arts (Chinese) test.

6.For programs taught in English: Applicants must have an English proficiency level of IELTS 5.5 or above, TOEFL 69 or above, Duolingo 90 or above, or provide a certificate of English-taught education for the highest academic qualification (with the school official seal).

Master's Program Application Requirements

1. Non-Chinese citizen in good physical and mental health.

2. Possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent academic qualification, and under 35 years old.

3. For programs taught in Chinese: Applicants must reach Level 4 of the HSK with a score of 180 or above.

4. For programs taught in English: Applicants must have an English proficiency level of IELTS 6.0 or above, TOEFL 75 or above, Duolingo 100 or above, or provide a certificate of English-taught education for the highest academic qualification (with the school official seal).

Doctoral Program Application Requirements

1. Non-Chinese citizen in good physical and mental health.

2. Possess a master's degree in the same or a related discipline as the applied major, and  under 45 years old.

3. A letter of acceptance from a supervisor and two recommendation letters from experts with the title of associate professor or above.

4. For programs taught in Chinese: Applicants must reach Level 4 of the HSK with a score of 180 or above.

5. For programs taught in English: Applicants must have an English proficiency level of IELTS 6.0 or above, TOEFL 75 or above, Duolingo 100 or above, or provide a certificate of English-taught education for the master's degree (with the school official seal).
